Booth Coordinator – Mascot Comics

 

Overview: The Booth Coordinator for Mascot Comics oversees the setup and oversight of the Sunset & Meteor/Mascot Comics space on the show floor at Phoenix Fan Fusion. This includes pre-show prep, hiring/training crew to staff the space, load-in and booth setup onsite, managing staff throughout the event, and load-out. The position requires the following skills: strong customer service and sales, multitasking, stress strong leadership skills, self-direction, professional appearance and organization, and attention to detail. May also include travel to other events, TBD. This position reports directly to VP Christina Angel and works collaboratively with other departments as needed.

 

General responsibilities:

·       Hiring, training, and management of appropriate sales staff

·       Creating staff schedules and task assignments

·       Working collaboratively with leadership to determine the setup and needs for the booth onsite at PFF

·       Managing and overseeing pre-show work as needed, including the ordering and review of assets and supplies, staffing, and scheduling

·       Overseeing the setup of Mascot Comics booth onsite and managing the space for the duration of the event

·       Managing signings at the Mascot booth, as determined pre-show

·       Managing inventory and sales of books and merch at booth

·       Perform record-keeping and notes on launch for future use

·       Being the face of Mascot Comics, with the ability to speak intelligently and with a soft sales approach to potential readers

·       Regular communication with the VP, updating on needs and tasks

·       Direct supervision of staff onsite

 

Requirements:

·       Extensive leadership experience, preferably with live events

·       Money- and inventory-handling experience

·       Customer service experience

·       Comfortable with computers and learning new software quickly

·       Available for meetings and work sessions, especially after May 1

·       Available to work onsite Thurs-Sun of the show for all work hours

 

 

This position is remote, work from home, with occasional in-person pre-convention meetings, and onsite work during the operation of Phoenix Fan Fusion (Wednesday, June 4 - Sunday, June 8).

 

The hourly rate is $25, along with a complimentary hotel room and hotel parking during the show. You’ll further receive an additional complimentary membership pass for your family or friend, convention t-shirt, lapel pin, and memories to last a lifetime!
